Welcome to Week 1 of Vertex Altitude, Table Mountain.

“Table Mountain is a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town in South Africa” - A gentle introduction to Vertex.

This week, volumooors will try out the basics, by depositing assets and experiencing the lightning fast speeds of spot trading on Vertex.

How To Participate

Depositing onto Vertex

1. Click on “Connect Wallet”

   

2. Click on a “Deposit” button which can be found throughout the app.

   

3. Select the asset you wish to deposit.

   • Press on the asset drop-down.
   • Select the asset to deposit.
   • The “Available” tells you how much of that asset you have in your wallet.
   • Note: you will get a error message if you do not have funds in your wallet

4. Enter the amount you wish to deposit (250 USDC).

5. Approve the asset.

   

   • A purple “Approve” button will appear.
   • Sign the approval in your wallet.

6. Complete the Deposit.

   

   • After the approval is completed, it’s time to deposit.
   • Press the green deposit button.
   • Confirm the deposit in your wallet.

   Spot Trading on Vertex

   1. Select “Spot”

      

   2. Select the market (wETH/USDC).

      

      • Click on the All Markets drop-down in the top left (beside the Orderbook price).
      • Select the asset you wish trade.

   3. [Optional] Decide if you want to trade WITH or WITHOUT leverage.

      

      • Below the market selection, you will find a Leverage OFF/ON option (starts OFF by default).
        • Leverage ON + Buying = Enables borrowing USDC to buy more of an asset.
        • Leverage ON + Selling = Enables borrowing an asset to sell.
      • For this week, you can use either.

   4. Buy wETH (0.1).

      • To choose, click on Buy.

        

      • Enter the trade size (0.1) (and price for limit).

        

      • Press the “Buy” Order button below.

        

      • Confirm the trade (transaction) in your wallet.
